CINEMATOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE
1. THE CONCEPT
The concept for this 90 minute photography experience is to capture the essence of your unique story through a cinematic lens. Focusing on composition, lighting and visual storytelling to create a series of images that feel like still frames from a movie. My goal is to evoke emotion and tell a captivating visual story. Your story.
2. My APPROCH
I adopt a cinematic-style approach, characterized by careful composition, attention to lighting and a focus on storytelling. Utilizing framing techniques, depth of field and creative angles to enhance the cinematic feel. While encouraging to express genuine emotions and interactions.
3.LOCATION
For this type of experience I like to choose a location that offers a cinematic backdrop, such as an urban landscape, interesting architecture, a scenic park, or even a family’s home with unique and visually appealing spaces. Considering the overall mood and atmosphere that align with a cinematic aesthetic.
4.THE EXPERIENCE
I divide the 90 minutes session into different segments, allowing for a variety of moments to be captured:
10 minutes - Introduction and Warm up : I begin with some casual conversation to help the family members feel comfortable in front of the camera. If the moment is right, I also capture spontaneous interactions during this time.
15 minutes - Establishing Shots : I start with wide-angle shots that set the scene and capture you in the environment. Utilising an interesting perspective to establish the cinematic atmosphere.
20 minutes - Action Sequences : I will direct you to engage in some prompts or activities that lend themselves to dynamic and visually interesting compositions. This could include, having coffee at a coffee shop, a picnic, walking together, or interacting in a way that feels natural and cinematic.
15 minutes - Individual Shots : We create a specific moment to capture individuals in a cinematic portrait, emphasising their unique personalities. Utilising creative lighting and framing.
15 minutes - Emotional Moments : I will encourage you to share intimate and emotional moments, whether is a heartfelt conversation or a loving embrace or a playful interaction. I will focus this moment to capture authentic expression and connections.
5 minutes - Closing Scenes : We will conclude this session with a final scene that encapsulates the essence of your story. This could be either a moment of togetherness, reflection or celebration.
By focusing on the cinematic perspective, this session aims to create a visual compelling story that goes beyond traditional portraits. Offering a series of images that feel like frames from a captivating movie.
5.POST-PROCESSING
During post-processing, I apply a cinematic colour grading to create a cohesive and visually striking look with a colour palette that evoke the mood of a cinematic story.
During the editing process we go through a culling step, where we get rid of blurry photos, bad poses or bad angles and such (which they are expected and we work counting on them, specially with kids) . Once you receive the gallery, you will be able to select the photos that you want to keep and be able to download (watermark free).
6.THE GALLERY
After our session, I will share some sneak peaks on my social media (if consented). And you will receive your gallery in the following 3 weeks. Your gallery will be delivered online, and will contain all edited photos from our session. We do an excellent job in providing all good photos in the gallery for you to choose.
